Brittany "Cheetah"
Diggers

My first "real" statue, based on a character from Fred Perry's Gold Digger series. The series is a blend of anime and Lucasfilm, with a nice mix of everything else in the world thrown in (the militant leprechauns are my fave). One of my favorite reads, and now being collected in huge 25 issue volumes called "Gold Bricks". Well worth the cash and lots of fun. Brittany is a werecheetah, and adopted sister to the book's title character. She's great fun and a feline powerhouse to boot. I'm a big cat fan, and I've always had a thing for were-creatures in stories, so this was an easy choice for my first try at a planned statue. |

The base is wood, and she was made with a coat hanger armature like all my early works. The one irritating part about this piece is that I was still working with multicolored Sculpey 3, which kept showing through the paint. I used so many layers of white paint to compensate that I gave her an unintentionally furry looking surface. Which, considering her naturally furry nature isn't half bad, except for the the mess it made of her face. Oops... She's definitely one I'd like to try doing again, now that I know a few more tricks. Of course doing her again would mean I'd be able to justify doing Stripe too. Hmmm....
