I'm a huge fan of independent comics and the artists who toil away to produce them. Most of my pieces are based on characters from one very specific title, but I have plans for several more in the future based on other indie books. I just have to find the time... On this site you'll find pictures and brief comments about statues I've done over the past few years. All of them are made with a polymer clay called Sculpey which you can learn more about here. |

Did you come here from the new RadioactivePanda.com? Last Updated 03-03-04 It's been a loooong time since I did any sculpting. We're talking years now. Most of my time these days is happily taken up by the comic. As such, many of the comments you'll read here are extraordinarily out of date. Though I still keep in touch with Mark Oakley from time to time, the Rubel statue has pretty much long since fallen by the wayside. I just don't have the time and know-how to produce the molds and castings myself, and we haven't found anyone else to take on the project. I know Mark would still love to see this thing happen, but for now it's in deeeeep hibernation. Of course if anyone with the proper resources and interest to carry on this project comes along, that may well change again. Who knows. If you're really seriously interested, and have the capabilities in place, you can always email either me or Mark and we'll see what happens. In any case, I hope you enjoy what you find here. |

I started reading Mark Oakley's Thieves & Kings back in the mid-teen issues. It's now somewhere in the 30's and growing in every way. It's a marvelous fairy tale, a tremendous adventure story, and has one of the most unique artistic styles in comics today. If you aren't already reading the book, consider yourself strongly urged to click on the picture above and learn more about it. Thieves & Kings has become one of my favorite sources of inspiration, and I've been working with Mark for some time now in an attempt to produce actual licensed statues for sale. The costs and time constraints of such an enterprise are still daunting, but there's still hope that it will someday work out. In the meantime, I've been producing other experimental pieces, some of which I've included here. |

One more rather important note... Most of the pieces you'll see on this page are unofficial replicas of copyrighted characters. They are done largely for my own enjoyment and the enjoyment of other fans. As of this writing, nothing on this site is available for sale or duplication. Several of these characters likeness have been licensed by other sculptors and are available for legitimate sale. I have included links to more information wherever possible, and I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the creators of these characters, without whom I'd never have started sculpting.
